6, 8 or 11 Digits?
Visa and Mastercard completed the move to 8-digit BINs in April 2022, but most free lookup tools still only accept 6. A 6-digit lookup on an 8-digit range returns the range owner rather than the actual issuer — which is why a card can come back with the wrong bank, country, or funding type.
This API accepts 6 to 11 digits and resolves to the most specific range it holds.
Longer prefixes return more precise results, and the
meta.longer_bin_available field tells you when submitting more digits
would narrow the match further.
